The European Committee of the Regions is inviting Young Elected Politicians to Brussels on 21 June for the ‘Young Leaders of Europe Conference’ organised in partnership with EU40 - the network of young MEPs.
The event will bring together 70 local politicians and four MEPs: Stelios Kympouropoulos (Greece, EPP), Alessandra Moretti (Italy, S&D), Marie-Pierre Vedrenne (France, RE) and Kira Marie Peter-Hansen (Denmark, Greens/EFA). This initiative, inspired by the Conference on the Future of Europe, and the European Commission initiated “European Year of Youth 2022,” will focus on the theme of ‘citizen participation,’ especially as it relates to youth engagement, and how this can foster a sense of democratisation, inspiration, and hope for the future of our societies.
